Notifications and email

Find your notifications under the bell, choose which ones also come by email, and turn email back on if it stopped.

The bell

The bell at the top of the screen holds your notifications, like approved hours, reminders, call changes, and new tasks. A number on the bell shows how many you haven’t read.

  • Tap the bell to open your notifications. They’re grouped under Today, Yesterday, and Earlier, newest first.
  • Tap a notification to open what it’s about. It’s marked as read.
  • Choose Unread to see only the ones you haven’t read, or Mark all as read to clear the number.
  • Notifications are kept for 90 days.

Opening the bell doesn’t mark anything as read. Only tapping a notification or Mark all as read does.

Choose what comes by email

Everything shows in the bell. You choose which kinds of notification also come by email.

  1. Open Settings, or tap the bell and choose Notification settings.
  2. Find the Email me about card under Notifications.
  3. Turn Email on or off for each kind, like Reminders, Call changes, or Reports. Each switch saves right away.
  • If you belong to more than one organization, you choose separately for each one. Open Settings at that organization’s address.
  • If your organization turned a kind of notification off for everyone, it isn’t listed, and the card says which ones are off.
  • Turning email off never stops the bell. You still see every notification in the app.

Every notification email ends with Manage notification email. It opens the same card in Settings. Sign in first if you’re asked.

Quiet hours

Your organization sets quiet hours, like 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Email that would arrive then waits until quiet hours end. The bell still updates right away. The Notifications card in Settings shows your organization’s quiet hours.

Urgent call changes still come by email right away, even during quiet hours.

Reminders and call notices

You get reminders before shifts you signed up for, calls you’re on, and Build Days for shows you’re on. Your organization chooses when they’re sent, like the evening before and two hours before.

  • Reminders and call notices use your own call time. If you’re placed in a department or position that has its own call, that’s the time you’re reminded of and told about.
  • If your call is new or changes and Stage Management chooses to let people know, you get a Call changes notification with the final time. Not every change sends one, so the Calendar is the place to check.
  • If an event is cancelled or you’re no longer on it, you won’t be reminded about it.

These reminders are separate from alerts you set in your calendar app, so you may get both.

If email stopped

If notification email can’t reach you, it stops, and the Notifications card in Settings says why. The bell still gets everything.

  • Email bounced means your email address couldn’t receive it, for example because the address is wrong or no longer exists. Tap Try email again to start it again. If it bounces again, it stops again.
  • Marked as spam means one of our emails was reported as spam from your mailbox. Tap Turn email back on if that was a mistake. If an administrator typed in your email address for you, it can’t be turned back on from Settings.

If you don’t want an email, turn it off in Settings instead of marking it as spam. If your email address is wrong, ask your organization’s administrator to change it. Sign-in and password emails still send either way.
